Olive Black Natural Marble Vessel Sink — 15.7" Round Honed Finish, One-Piece Block-Carved, Above-Counter Bathroom Basin (Ø400mm × H150mm)

SKU: W1696P408023
Carved from a single block of 100% natural olive black marble, this vessel sink combines geological authenticity with contemporary restraint. Measuring 15.7 inches (400mm) in diameter and 5.9 inches (150mm) in height, it features a precision hand-honed finish that mutes light reflection and reveals the marble's fine crystalline grain. Each basin is one of one — no two pieces share identical veining or base tonality.
Designed for above-counter installation, the 1.75-inch (45mm) drain opening accepts most US-market non-overflow pop-up drain assemblies. The non-glued one-piece construction eliminates leak risk and seam inspection.

The Olive Black Marble Vessel Sink is a single-piece bathroom basin carved from one solid block of 100% natural marble. Measuring 15.7 inches (400mm) in diameter and 5.9 inches (150mm) in height, it features a precision hand-honed finish, a centered 1.75-inch (45mm) drain opening, and a substantial 25mm±2mm base thickness. Designed for above-counter installation, this vessel sink belongs to Luxury Marble Craft's signature collection of one-piece block-carved basins shipped from our US warehouse.

Each piece is excavated from raw quarry blocks of olive-black marble, then carved, hollowed, and refined. The result is a basin with the geological integrity of a single stone — no seams, no glued sections, no composite fillers. Its weight, density, and tactile depth quietly distinguish it from cast-stone or resin imitations that dominate the mid-market segment.

A Transparent Look at Nine Real Units — What Natural Marble Actually Delivers
Nine individual black marble vessel sinks displayed in grid, showcasing unique veining patterns inherent to 100% natural marble.

The image above presents nine separate olive-black vessel sinks photographed under identical lighting. Look closely: the top six units lean toward a deep forest-charcoal tonality, while the bottom three sit closer to a true graphite black. Veining patterns range from concentrated white lightning streaks to barely-there mineral whispers. No two units in this grid are alike — and this is precisely the point.

We believe in showing what arrives at your door rather than what looks best in a single staged photograph. Here is what every buyer of natural stone deserves to understand:

On natural fissures and pinholes.

Because this sink is carved from a raw quarry block — not cast, not engineered, not reconstituted — small voids, micro-fissures, and surface pinholes are inherent to the geological structure. After the basin is sculpted into its final shape, our craftsmen carefully fill these natural openings with color-matched stone resin, then hand-hone the entire surface to a uniform matte finish. Faint traces of these repair points may remain visible on the interior or exterior wall of the bowl. This is not a defect. This is the honest signature of authentic natural stone — and a process that engineered stone simply does not require because it has no story to repair.

On base color and veining.

Olive-black marble forms over millions of years beneath shifting geological pressure. The chromatic spectrum from one block to the next can vary by 10–15%, and veining direction, density, and contrast are entirely unpredictable. If you are ordering two units for a double-vanity installation, the two basins will share family resemblance but will not be identical twins. Some buyers describe receiving our sinks as opening a curated geological time capsule — a sentiment we appreciate, though we want to set expectations honestly rather than poetically.

A direct word to the cautious buyer.

If you require absolute uniformity between two units, predictable factory-matched coloring, or a guarantee that no repaired pinhole will ever be visible under raking light, please consider that natural marble is not the right material for your project. Engineered quartz or ceramic vessel sinks offer that consistency at a lower price point. What we offer is the opposite proposition: a sink that is provably, irreversibly, one-of-one. If the unknown that accompanies authenticity feels exciting rather than risky, you are exactly the homeowner this sink was carved for.

Precision Dimensions — Engineered for Standard US Plumbing

Technical dimension diagram of round black marble vessel sink: 400mm diameter, 150mm height, 45mm drain hole, 25mm base thickness.

Measurement Imperial Metric
Outer diameter 15.7 inches 400 mm
Overall height 5.9 inches 150 mm
Drain opening (inner) 1.75 inches 45 mm
Drain seat (outer) 2.6 inches 66 mm
Base thickness ~1 inch 25 mm (±2 mm)

The 15.7-inch footprint is sized to clear standard vanity tops with generous countertop margin on all sides, while remaining compact enough for powder rooms and guest baths where space is a premium. The 5.9-inch profile sits at an ergonomically considered hand-washing height when paired with a 32–36 inch finished vanity surface — high enough to feel grounded, low enough to avoid visual top-heaviness.

The 1.75-inch drain opening accepts the vast majority of standard US-market non-overflow pop-up drains without adapter rings. Carved from one solid block, no joint inspection, and no leak-test protocol — water never reaches anything except continuous stone.

Three Signatures That Define This Piece

Specification infographic: 400mm diameter, 150mm height black marble vessel sink with natural veins, single block, matte finish.

The graphic above isolates the three structural truths of this basin.
Natural Marble Veins describes the stochastic mineral pathways laid down during the stone's formation — chemistry written in chromatic line work.
Single Solid Block confirms what cannot be seen but matters most: there is no adhesive, no lamination, no hidden seam beneath the surface.
Matte Finish identifies the hand-honed treatment that mutes light reflection by approximately 80% compared to a polished surface of equivalent stone, producing a velvet-soft visual quality that designers increasingly specify for contemporary, Japandi, and wabi-sabi interiors.

These three properties are not marketing claims — they are physical conditions of the object. They explain why the basin weighs roughly 33 lbs (15 kg) despite its modest footprint, why it absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, and why the surface temperature lags a few degrees behind the room (a property of dense, solid stone with high thermal mass).

Surface, Scale, Stone, and Stewardship — A Closer Read
Detail infographic: matte texture, honed finish, 15.8-inch size reference, water-resistant surface, easy wipe-clean maintenance.

The four-panel composite zooms into the qualities that photographs rarely communicate at thumbnail size.

Matte texture. Under raking light, the honed surface reveals fine marble grain — the crystalline mineral structure exposed by abrasive smoothing rather than reflective buffing. This is the visual cue interior designers recognize from luxury hotel spa bathrooms and curated boutique residences.

Premium craftsmanship. A direct view into the bowl confirms two non-negotiables: this is 100% natural stone, and the finish is honed. We use these terms with precision rather than as marketing flourish — "natural" means quarried, not reconstituted; "honed" means abraded to matte, not chemically dulled.

Perfect Fit. The reference photograph alongside a standard 500ml water bottle gives instant spatial sense. At 15.7 inches across and 5.9 inches tall, this basin reads as a confident statement piece without overwhelming a 22-inch vanity.

Easy Maintenance. A common question concerns water marks. The before-and-after demonstration shows water droplets wiping clean with a soft cloth in seconds. Daily care requires only a pH-neutral soap and a microfiber wipe-down; periodic resealing every 6–12 months with a quality stone sealer preserves the surface against staining indefinitely.

Why We Hone Olive Black — A Studio Decision, Not a Default

Our block-carved one-piece vessel sink program currently includes five marble varieties: Diamond Green, Hyatt Gold, Carrara Gray, Snow Mountain White, and Olive Black. We finish them deliberately, not uniformly.

Diamond Green and Hyatt Gold receive a polished finish.
Naturally green and golden marbles are geologically scarce — they emerge from specific mineral conditions that few quarries on Earth can produce. The polished treatment intensifies their color saturation and reveals the chromatic depth that justifies their rarity. Polished marble is created by grinding and buffing until the stone has a mirror-like reflective surface, which brings out the stone's natural colors, making veins and patterns appear more vivid. For stones whose value resides in chromatic uniqueness, this is the finish that honors the material. Artistic Tile

Carrara Gray, Snow Mountain White, and Olive Black receive a honed finish.
Gray, white, and black marbles are the most globally familiar stone palettes — they appear across countless quarries, projects, and price tiers. While our specific varieties are sourced from selected quarries with distinct grain and vein character, we acknowledge openly that this color family does not carry the same geological scarcity as green or gold. Honing these three colors accomplishes two objectives at once.

First, it differentiates our pieces from the polished, high-gloss black, white, and gray sinks that dominate online marketplaces. The honed finish reads as contemporary, restrained, and editorial rather than commercial. Many homeowners choose honed marble because of its natural look, and honed marble has a matte, satin-like finish that has a soft, natural appearance that aligns with the design direction of Japandi, wabi-sabi, and warm-minimalist interiors trending across US residential design in 2026. Second, honed surfaces offer a practical advantage in daily use. Honed surfaces have a rougher texture and do not show minor surface damage like etches and scratches as prominently as polished stone, and because the matte finish hides scratches, many homeowners appreciate its forgiving nature — particularly valuable in a vessel that will see daily hand-washing and occasional accidental contact with jewelry, watches, and grooming tools. Academy MarbleArtistic Tile

This is the philosophy behind our finishing decisions: we let the rarity of the stone tell us what it needs. Common materials honored with thoughtful matte treatment. Rare materials elevated by mirror-bright polish. Neither finish is inherently superior — the question is always which finish does justice to the specific stone in hand.

A Designer's Composition — Olive Black Anchoring Snow Mountain White

Paired black marble vessel sinks with white hexagon textured wall tile and polished floor tile in coordinated marble bathroom.

The scene above demonstrates one of our most-requested coordinated installations. The wall is dressed in our Hexagon Snow Mountain White Marble Tile — OL Textured Finished, whose fluted three-axis ridges produce a tessellating cube illusion under directional light. The floor is laid with our Hexagon Snow Mountain White Marble Tile — Polished, reflecting overhead illumination and pulling the room into a single luminous envelope.

Against this brightness, the paired olive-black vessel sinks operate as visual anchors — two confident dark masses arresting the eye, grounding the composition, and giving the textured wall its negative-space counterpoint. The contrast follows the classical 80/20 rule of monochromatic interiors: a dominant lighter field interrupted by deliberate darker accent. The slim black metal vanity legs echo the basins without competing with them, and the wall-routed industrial taps reinforce the architectural restraint.

This is what we mean by coordinated marble design: not three matching products, but three calibrated tonalities working as a single visual system.

The Same Space at Golden Hour — How Light Rewrites a Room

Paired black marble vessel sinks with white hexagon textured wall tile and polished floor tile in warm sunlit marble bathroom.

The composition above is identical to the previous scene, but the lighting has shifted to late-afternoon natural light. Watch what happens.

The white textured hexagons no longer appear cool and architectural — they warm into honeyed cream, the fluted ridges casting longer shadows that emphasize their dimensional craft. The taps and frame elements have shifted from matte black to a soft brushed-bronze tonality. And the olive-black basins, rather than reading as severe contrast, now glow with a deeper, almost-velvet richness, the white veining catching the sun like fine porcelain threadwork.

This is the unspoken promise of natural materials: they have a relationship with time of day. A bathroom finished in genuine marble does not look the same at 8 AM as it does at 6 PM, and it never looks the same twice in the same week. Honed olive-black marble in particular reveals subtle chromatic shifts that printed quartz cannot replicate — moments of olive-green, charcoal-blue, or warm graphite emerging as ambient light changes. The basin becomes a quiet daily timepiece.

Building a Complete Marble Vignette — One Basin, One Wall, Two Accessories

Black marble vessel sink with hexagon textured wall tile and matching white marble accessories in coordinated bathroom set.

This single-basin composition demonstrates how the olive-black vessel sink coordinates with our broader marble program at a more intimate scale. Behind the basin: our Hexagon Snow Mountain White Marble Tile — OL Textured Finished, bringing dimensional rhythm to what could otherwise be a flat wall plane. The textured field reads beautifully behind a vessel sink because the marble's surface modulation creates visual interest without competing for color attention — the wall whispers while the basin speaks.

On the counter, paired with the sink, are two pieces from our Snow Mountain White Natural Marble 6 Pcs Bathroom Vanity Set — specifically the toothbrush holder and the toothpaste holder. We engineered this six-piece set with flexibility in mind: each accessory functions independently, so homeowners can curate exactly the combination they need on each surface. Some buyers deploy all six pieces together for a fully unified vanity scene; others — like the example above — choose two or three pieces to add quiet material continuity without crowding the counter.

The result is a layered, intentional vignette: black sink, white textured wall, white marble accessories, oil-rubbed bronze tapware. Three product categories, one visual language. This is the assembly logic we encourage — choose the basin first as the focal commitment, then add wall and counter elements that share the same material DNA at different scales.

Engineered Packaging — Because Stone Is Heavy, Brittle, and Worth Protecting

Multi-layer foam protective packaging process for natural marble vessel sink, showing shock-absorption layers and reinforced corners.

A natural marble vessel sink weighing 33 lbs (15 kg) shipped halfway across the continent demands a packaging strategy proportionate to the value inside. The seven-step protective system shown above is our answer.

Layer one is a contoured base foam cradle that matches the basin's curvature, distributing weight evenly across the bottom and preventing point-pressure cracking.
Layer two is a four-sided foam collar that locks around the basin's mid-section, absorbing lateral impact during transit.
Layer three is a top foam cap that seals the assembly into a single suspended unit, holding the basin in a foam-encased pocket that does not contact the outer carton walls at any point.
The outer carton is double-walled industrial corrugated, reinforced at all eight edge seams.

This is the structural advantage of buying directly from a specialized independent site rather than a general marketplace. We package every vessel sink in custom-cut protective foam designed specifically for this exact diameter, depth, and weight class.

When your basin arrives, the carton may feel surprisingly substantial. That is the system doing its job.

A Beautiful Product Deserves a Gentle Unboxing — Our Digital-Only Guide
Step-by-step unboxing guide for the round natural marble vessel sink, illustrating the straightforward unpacking process and preparation for a simple above-counter installation.

The diagrammatic guide above accompanies every vessel sink —  only as a digital reference.

By publishing the unboxing protocol here on the product page, we ask new owners to review the four illustrated steps before the carton arrives. The sequence is straightforward: open the carton and remove the top foam cap; lift away the surrounding foam collar to fully expose the basin; recruit a second person to assist with the lift; place the basin on the foam base layer rather than directly onto a hard countertop or floor, where minor surface scratches can occur from grit or trapped debris.

The two-person requirement is not a liability disclaimer. The basin's weight is concentrated and the surface is finished — a single-person lift is physically possible but introduces unnecessary risk of grip slippage, edge contact, or twisting strain. Two hands per side, lifted slowly, set down with intention.

Choosing to make this guide digital-only also reflects something quieter about how we want our brand to be experienced. A web-published guide that a homeowner reviews the day before delivery feels like correspondence between people who both care about the object arriving safely. Our brand is built on independent specialization rather than marketplace volume, and small decisions like this one are how that distinction becomes tangible.

Honest Final Notes Before You Buy

Each Olive Black Marble Vessel Sink is uniquely veined — no two are identical, and slight chromatic and patterning variations between units are characteristic of 100% natural marble. We do not consider these characteristics flaws; we consider them the geological signature that distinguishes authentic stone from manufactured imitation.

If you are ordering a single basin, you are receiving one curated piece of earth. If you are ordering a pair for a double vanity, you are receiving two related pieces from the same geological family — coordinated, complementary, but not cloned. Faint traces of color-matched resin where natural pinholes were filled prior to honing may be visible on close inspection. The stone is real. The repairs are honest. The result is yours alone.

Sink only.
Faucet, pop-up drain, and vanity cabinet are not included. The 1.75-inch (45mm) drain opening accepts standard US-market non-overflow pop-up drain assemblies. The basin ships from our US warehouse with full protective packaging.

FAQ
Q1: How do I install an above-counter natural marble vessel sink?

A: Above-counter installation requires a pre-drilled vanity top with a 1.75-inch drain hole aligned to your plumbing rough-in. Place the basin on a thin silicone bead for stability, connect a standard non-overflow pop-up drain assembly, and verify level before sealing.

Q2: How do I clean and maintain a natural olive black marble vessel sink?

A: Clean daily with pH-neutral soap and a soft microfiber cloth — never use acidic cleaners like vinegar, lemon juice, or bleach, which etch natural marble permanently. Apply a quality stone sealer every 6–12 months to prevent staining. Wipe spills immediately, especially coffee, wine, hair dye, and cosmetic products.

Q3: Are color and veining variations normal in natural marble vessel sinks?

A: Yes — color and veining variations are inherent to 100% natural marble formed over millions of years. Base color may vary by 10–15% between units, and white veining patterns are entirely unpredictable. Visible color-matched resin repairs at natural pinholes are also normal and reflect authentic stone craftsmanship, not defects.

Q4: Where does this marble vessel sink ship from, and how is it protected?

A: This vessel sink ships from our US warehouse using a custom-cut protective foam system specifically engineered for one-piece carved stone basins. The contoured foam cradle absorbs transit impact across all axes, achieving a breakage rate of approximately 0.3% — substantially below standard natural stone shipping norms.

Q5: Will two basins ordered for a double vanity match each other exactly?

A: Two basins from a double-vanity order will share family resemblance but will not be identical. Each unit is carved from a separate block of natural marble, so veining direction, density, and base tone differ slightly. Buyers seeking factory-matched uniformity should consider engineered quartz instead of natural marble.

However, please remember that natural marble is a masterpiece created by the earth, not a machine. Variations in veining, background tone, and texture are celebrated characteristics that make natural stone unique. No two pieces are exactly alike. We hope you embrace these natural variations and enjoy owning a piece of the earth that is exclusively yours.

Please Note: Because these are inherent traits of natural stone, returns based on dissatisfaction with specific veining, color shades, or natural textures are classified as "Standard Returns." If you require absolute uniformity or cannot accept these natural variations, we kindly advise you to purchase with caution.

Return Conditions:

  • Eligibility: Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging.

  • Return Shipping: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs to our designated US facility.

  • Restocking Fee: A 20% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund. This covers the labor cost of unboxing, inspecting, and repacking the heavy stone to ensure it's safe for the next customer.

  • Process:

    1. Contact us at LMC@luxurymarblecraft.com to request a Return Authorization and the correct return address. (Note: Please do not send your purchase back without contacting us first.)

    2. Ship the item back using a trackable service.

    3. Once received and inspected (to confirm no damage), we will process your refund minus the 20% fee.

3. Refund Processing

  • Inspection & Approval: Once your return is received and inspected at our warehouse, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund based on the item's condition.

  • Processing Time: If your return is approved, your refund will be processed immediately. A credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 5-10 business days (depending on your bank's processing time).

Late or Missing Refunds: If you haven’t received a refund after 10 business days, please follow these steps:

  1. Check your bank account again.

  2. Contact your credit card company; it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

  3. Contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

  4. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at LMC@luxurymarblecraft.com.

4. Non-Refundable Items & Exceptions

Please note that the following situations are exempt from refunds:

  • User-Caused Damage: Any item not in its original condition, that is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.

  • Final Sale Items: Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Unfortunately, items marked as "Final Sale" or "Clearance" cannot be refunded.
